FAQs
What is RAS?
RAS stands for Recovery ▪ Analytics ▪ Solutions. It is a woman-owned company focused on saving money for its clients by providing specialized services including operational and financial auditing, cost recovery, and design of cost reduction and efficient solutions. Our experts possess industry-specific business operations expertise, including government operations.
What do RAS’ services cost?
There is no up-front cost for using RAS’ services. Payment for our services is strictly performance-based, meaning “no savings – no payment. We are so certain you can benefit from our services that they are FREE if RAS does not save or recover money for you.
Where do funds recovered from vendors and future savings go?
All funds are sent directly to the client; RAS never handles your funds. Only after you receive the recovered funds or achieved savings will you compensate RAS for its work from a portion of the recoveries/savings you received.
What documentation does RAS provide?
All clients receive a comprehensive report that documents RAS’ analysis of examined operations. Our report details findings, identifies strengths, weaknesses, and recommends strategies to improve the bottom-line. The report may be freely used by the client to demonstrate the effectiveness of its operations, as documented by RAS in its capacity as an independent third party.
Is there risk to using RAS’ services?
There is no risk to using RAS’ services. RAS charges nothing upfront and is paid for its services only after a client is paid the actual savings RAS has identified and the client has received. In those rare instances where RAS is unable to identify savings opportunities for a client, the client pays RAS nothing for our services. All funds are paid directly to the client who then compensates RAS from a portion of the savings achieved.
RAS performs its work off-site, except for telephone line audits of physical on-site review of specific equipment. This means RAS is always close at hand but never under foot.
What is RAS’ record of success?
RAS saves money for clients 98% of the time. By way of a few examples, just in telecom and data, total annual savings for one major southeast city exceeded $2.3 million, an Alabama hospital saved 62% of telecom spend without changing its provider, and a large west coast hospital reduced its pre-audit annual spend of $1.9 million by $719,000, saving 37%.
RAS does better when its clients do better. And our clients almost always do better. Please review our Results section for additional examples of actual benefits we achieved for clients.
How can RAS help me?
We can improve your operations, efficiency, and save money in three ways:
- Create Future Savings – RAS renegotiates contracts…usually with your current vendor…to create value-added contracts using our proprietary data: Our industry-specific experts compare your current contract for goods or services to our constantly updated, proprietary national database of best-in-class rates and contract requirements and use those facts to renegotiate the best prices and contract provisions for you.
- Identify Operational and Process Efficiencies – RAS improves operational systems: Our expert consultation provides insight and recommendations on opportunities to operate in a more cost-effective and efficient manner.
- Recover Unknown Losses – RAS uncovers erroneous charges: Our auditors identify, document and, upon your approval, recover prior years’ overcharges, unpaid rebates, outstanding credits, unclaimed property, and billing errors.
What services do you offer that solve my problem?
RAS has teams of industry-specific analysts that can address costs and operations on a broad range of issues. Share your concerns with us and see how we can help you. Our Solutions & Savings section provides some examples for a variety of solutions.
Why do I need this consultation?
You don’t know what you don’t know. RAS industry specific experts have first-hand, insider knowledge of the industry being reviewed. We understand its internal operations and opportunities to achieve efficiencies and reduce your costs. Plus, you do not have any financial risk, your operations/costs will be improved or, at a minimum, you will gain a free independent review that validates you run a cost-effective and efficient operation.
Is this a problem for organizations like ours?
Research has shown that, on average, organizations could effectively improve management of approximately forty percent (40%) of their total spend, which provides substantial opportunity to deliver savings and operational efficiencies.
Can I use just some of RAS’ services?
Absolutely. RAS’ range of services are tailored to meet your organization’s needs. We listen to your needs and focus where you want and need us most. We consider where you might achieve the most benefit from our services and respond accordingly.
How long does it take to review my operations?
The amount of time depends on the area under review, its complexity, the volume of records to be examined, the scope of services, and the timely response from vendors on the necessary data and documentation. Once we have your authorization we will begin work on your designated project(s) and be able to provide you with an estimated timeframe for that specific initiative. Some initiatives can be completed in just a few months.
How much time will RAS require of me?
RAS does the work for you. Taking advantage of our services requires minimal client staff time. We need a key person to grant us read-only access to necessary information for our analysis, approve recoveries of documented overpayments and recommendations for improving financial and/or operational efficiencies, accept and approve our regular reports on findings, and determine which recommendations for RAS to implement on your behalf.
RAS does the work, but you remain in control; RAS gets your approval first on all recoveries and recommendations.
Who has RAS served?
Our teams have successfully served all levels of government, school districts, universities, hospitals, and numerous private sector clients, including fortune 100 companies.
